Live Vehicle Tracking from 26p a day

Leeds Company heading for the fast lane (September 2006)

Leeds Company heading for the fast laneA Leeds based business Telecommunications Company is expecting a record breaking year of sales after being chosen as one of the only resellers in the UK to sell and install the latest in vehicle navigation system from brand leader TomTom.

Designed to help companies who have employees out on the road, TomTom WORK is an easy to use, connected navigation solution for businesses of all sizes. It is built to make the daily management and communication with staff easier than ever before and Fleet Tracking Advice Director Dan Hield believes the product will be a must for any size company, ‘The beauty of the system is that everyone wins. Each van can be tracked and is connected to a central hub so customers who are waiting for a delivery can follow a weblink to see where the van is and thus know when to expect it. For businesses, managers can communicate directly with drivers and also access information to see if they are using the most efficient route to a job in terms of mileage and fuel used, so it also has an economic and environmental advantage too.' TomTom WORK's 'Connected Navigation' solution combines TomTom's industry leading TomTom GO navigation technology with the very latest tracking & tracing technology, smart navigation and communication tools.

Three parts combine to make this efficient connected navigation solution:

  • TomTom WEBFLEET - an easy to use, web-based service that gives access to 24-hour fleet management, comprehensive reporting tools and more.
  • TomTom LINK - a small, compact unit placed discreetly inside each vehicle for GPS positioning and two-way communication, allowing for real time job despatch and order processing.
  • TomTom GO - TomTom's newest versions of their award-winning GO range provide each driver with their own personal navigation system, and a communication hub when used in conjunction with the 'LINK' unit, intended to improve efficiency and lower costs.

Sales Manager John Sheard, said, "We are really excited to be working with TomTom on this new and exciting product. Our long established place in the market means we are able to deliver the products with sound knowledge and expertise. We see this product as having the same impact as TomTom GO which everyone will be familiar with. We already have a call centre in place and looking for new sales staff so we planning to expand quite quickly to cope with demand."

Dave Manning, UK Account Manager for TomTom WORK who is working closely with the new resellers added, "This is an important milestone for TomTom WORK and Fleet Tracking Advice which demonstrates both our early success in the UK market and the potential they have. We are pleased to be working with them and look forward to a continued relationship in the future."
